We are less than one week away from one of Canada’s most important music releases in recent memory.  Why I say this is because Kardinal Offishall is on the verge of making that crossover from Canadian national rapper into respected MC status within the North American market.  His journey to this point has been well documented with his previous short comings from other labels not pushing, promoting and marketing his music properly.   Now as a prominent member of Akon’s Kon Live/Interscope family, Kardi is on course to compete with the biggest names in the business and he has a great shot. 

No Canadian MC has ever had the proper vehicle for their music to be heard on the scale that Kardi has recently achieved, and that itself is already a grand accomplishment.  Next week his album goes head to with veteran rapper LL Cool J, who’s Exit 13 album is also looking to make a dent in the urban genre after his previous album did not fare well.  You can say that the expectations are riding high for Kardinal’s new album to produce, and one thing for sure is that Kardi’s been waiting for this shot a long time.  Kardinal Offishall’s Not 4 Sale is in stores Tuesday, September 09, 2008.
