Plies ft. Keyshia Cole & J. Holiday – #1 Fan
Plies new album is full of goodies, all I gotta say is what an impressive follow up to his debut album. Unfortunately his album release date fell on the same day as Tha Carter III, so you know he’s bound for a top 10 finish at next week’s billboard 200 charting. But this joint with Keyshia Cole and J. Holiday is a great collaboration. Plies knows what makes him the most money, so he’s sticking to that avenue with this record. DJ Nasty and LVM take care of the production on this R&B feeler.
The Definiton of Real has a great balance of hard and soft records, and this one is tough record for the heads. This is my favorite cut on the album, you must have a listen, it would make a great future single if his label decides to take it there. Excellent production from Drumma Boy, his beats are the hottest in the streets right now.
New music from Cassidy. Obviously B.A.R.S. came and went and nobody really gave a damn about it. He is a proven lyricist and he can make the occasional hit record too. This one has right here is definitely for the streets and a dope listen, check it out. Cass is currently working on a new album and is in the lab with Swizz Beatz as usual.
Mariah Carey ft. Akon & Lil’ Wayne – Bye Bye-RMX
To be honest this song was a poor selection as a second single off Mariah’s E=MC². What also doesn’t make sense is the fact that this record was positioned deep at the end of the LP, where as most probable singles usually are placed in the top 5 charting of the album’s sequence. Nice collaboration with Akon on a Mariah joint as well Weezy F. Baby. It’s probably the first time the two artists have worked on a Mariah Carey record.
O’Neal McKnight ft. Jermaine Dupri & Puff Daddy - Check Your Coat-RMX
This song by the newcomer has been circulating around for quite sometime, since the early part of 2008 to be exact. But it pays off when your producer is DJ Cassidy, one of the biggest celebrity DJ’s in the club circuit today. He happens to be Diddy’s favorite DJ. He’s also the same cat who spun at Jay-Z and Beyonce’s wedding. The joint got a nice elevated boost by the 2 bosses, Puffy and JD. What a nice mix, that’s the best of both egos right there. His new album Prom: 2088 will be in stores later this year.
